Why Skin Tightening Treatments Should Start in Your 30s (Updated 2023)

Can you imagine owning a home and doing absolutely nothing to it? No maintenance, no updates, no general house ownership repairs? Nothing ever turns out well when we neglect maintenance. When patients wait until things are visually declining, e.g., jowls on the jawline, tired-looking eyes, and wrinkles around the lips and eyes, the solution becomes much more costly! We need to be proactive with our anti-aging routine to have favorable outcomes.

Aging starts at 25 years old, and so as hard as it is to believe, that’s when we should be starting these treatments.

While many women in their 30s choose BOTOX, filler, or a skincare routine to reverse signs of aging, skin tightening—a super important treatment type to be considered—gets overlooked. Skin tightening, when started early, can really help with preventing many of the things that bother us before they even start, while also enhancing existing treatment plans.

Ulthera is our skin-tightening treatment of choice at Cosmedica.

What is Ulthera?

Ulthera is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment that uses focused ultrasound to help in strategically lifting and refining the lower face and jawline, raising the brow, tightening the mommy tummies, and eliminating chest lines.

While many patients elect for a treatment that provides tightening on a deeper level to reverse notable signs of aging, younger patients can elect to do smaller, preventative treatments.

We offer both Ulthera and Ulthera Mini Boost.

Ulthera Mini Boost will aid in prevention of skin laxity, promote collagen production, and minimise fine lines and texture that may be starting. Complimentary to BOTOX and filler, this treatment will suit any existing treatment plan, while maximising results that can be obtained through continued use of a well-thought-out skincare routine with a high-quality brand such as ZO.

How often should you do Ulthera?

Ulthera requires low commitment with repeat treatment every 10 to 18 months.

Who can benefit from Ulthera vs. Ulthera Mini Boost?

A full Ulthera procedure is for those that feel their jawline is losing its definition. Our Ulthera Mini Boost is for the patient looking to get started early and get ahead of the game in terms of skin tightening. Still not sure? Come and ask us!

Post-care or side effects?

Many patients report little to no post-treatment side effects. Most common would be numbness to the treated area, a cat scratch appearance in certain lights for a couple of days post-procedure (especially with our Mini Boost treatments), and mild swelling. More sensitive patients will be more prone to bruising, although it is not common.

If you would like to learn more or want to see if Ulthera would be a good option for you, please request a consultation online or call (905) 631-6288 to schedule a personal consultation with one of our highly trained and knowledgeable nurses.
