It's hard to think of any facial expression that doesn't involve the forehead. Whether you are laughing or crying, or even while asleep, your forehead is constantly moving - wrinkling, stretching, expanding and contracting.

Unfortunately, all this activity leaves indelible marks. Deep forehead wrinkling and horizontal and vertical frown lines are a common problem - but one that can often be corrected with a forehead lift.

The Brow Lift is designed to address the underlying tissues and well as the skin, creating a more natural longer-lasting result. By altering some of the underlying muscles, the forehead lift can prevent many frown and worry lines from returning. Every forehead lift also elevates depressed eyebrows which produce a sense of heaviness that often makes someone look hostile, tired or unhappy. When the brow is elevated, the tired, sad and angry look disappears and the entire face brightens up.

  • have heavy folds of skin under the brows and crowding of the upper lids
  • have deep forehead lines

Procedure

The incision is hidden just behind the hairline across the top of the head. The forehead tissues are undermined to just above the boney brow. The frown muscles are identified and weakened if necessary to reduce "scowling". The now loose forehead tissues are redistributed upwards and secured in place with the use of two invisible Endotine TM devices. The Endotines hold the forehead in place while it is healing and then gradually dissolve. This reduces tension on the incision site and allows for better healing.

What You Can Expect

Antibiotics may be prescribed for several days following surgery. Sutures are generally removed within one week. Swelling and some bruising may occur, they should subside within a few weeks. Women will be allowed to use eye cosmetics up to two weeks after surgery. You can proceed with your normal daily activities within 1-2 weeks.

The effect is a smoother forehead, a younger more refreshed look and a more animated appearance. A Brow Lift is an excellent to "wake up" the area around the eyes.
